Fire At Patancheru Rubber Factory, Losses In Crores

A massive fire broke out at a rubber factory near Patancheru in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Tuesday. Following a short circuit at Agarwal Rubber factory, the blaze spread like wildfire. One could see smoke from miles away. Residents nearby were jolted out of the blue after hearing a explosive noise from the rubber unit.

Fire tenders who got the news rushed to the spot and began dousing the flames. Five fire engines were pressed into service to extinguish the fire. The fire department staff had to try hard to contain the blaze after strong winds hampered their efforts. The fire mishap is believed to have caused a loss to the tune of crores of rupees.

It may be recalled that only three months ago, a godown linked to this unit had suffered a similar mishap leading to the owner dying of heart attack.
