Fight in unison to achieve goals of YSR, Jagan: Vijayamma

Y S Vijayamma, YSR Congress honorary president on Saturday called upon the party workers to fight the local body elections with unity setting aside the minor differences if any.

Addressing the party workers of Krishna and West Godavari districts at Yenikepadu near Vijayawada on Saturday, Vijayamma said the party workers should feel that the local body elections are giving a great opportunity to serve the people in distress. There are many villages which are reeling under severe crisis without minimum facilities. Take it as an advantage to go and meet the people in villages. Because of abnormal delay in the local body elections, many issues were left unattended. The government has no commitment to serve the people. As a result of which, funds allocated under rural development were unutilized and the villages were facing acute shortage of basic amenities like drinking water, sanitation and roads, Vijayamma said and appealed to the party workers to achief the goals set by late YSR and her son Jagan Mohan Reddy and ensure victory in the local body elections.

Vijayamma said the skyrocketing prices of fertilizers were throwing the farmers in distress and why should people vote for Congress government, which has no accountability. She recalled that YSR had never raised the prices in the key areas during his regime.

Earlier, Vijayamma, who consoled the victims of Uttarakhand at Bavajipet, alleged that the government had failed in extending support in timeto the flood victims.
