Fearing Hooda fate, Chavan refuses to share stage with Modi

With booing of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at a public meeting attended by both Hooda and PM Narendra Modi fresh in mind, Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan become wiser and decided not to attend a programme with the Prime Minister.

He refused to attend the Nagpur metro rail project inauguration, which would be attended by Modi. Chavan said he did not get a proper invite and that he did not know whether the project has the approval of the union cabinet. Thirdly and most importantly, he said he feared the possibility of ruckus by BJP workers as it happened to Haryana CM Hooda.
With Congress-NCP alliance tottering and the approval ratings of the Chavan-led government falling, the chief minsiter does not want anything that further damages his reputation.
