Family disputes made public on T survey day

The Intensive Household Survey in Telangana, meant to weed out ineligible beneficiaries of Government largess, has an undesirable collateral damage.

The survey has inadvertently brought to the fore intense fissures in several  households.

One women went to the residence of her husband at Kukatpally in Hyderabad for registering her details in the survey.

However, her husband and in laws did not allow her into the residence saying that she had never visited them in the last three years. They said the women did not allow them even to see their son in the last three years.

“My wife had implicated me in false cases and also under Section 498 A. I filed a petition in a court seeking divorce from her. She created an impression in the society that all of us are cruel,” said her husband.

The women, who is working as a professor, staged a sit-in in front of the house in protest.

The neighbors have also found fault with the woman only. They said that the behavior of the women towards their in laws was very rude.

The in laws are saying that the women came to their residence only for the property.

Will the survey lead to washing of much more dirty linen in public, one wonders.
