Ex-Mayor opposes priority to Kavitha in Bathukamma fete

Congress leaders have strongly criticised the Telangana government and officialdom for ignoring other political leaders and giving importance only to MP and KCR's daughter Kavitha during Bathukamma festival.

“The officials are not following protocol in the celebrations of Batukamma festival. They are not inviting the leaders other than Nizamabad MP and the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister for these celebrations,” said Congress leader and former GHMC Mayor Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Monday, she seriously criticized the officials for not following the protocol during the official Bathukamma celebrations.

“The government is planning to celebrate Saddula Batukamma festival in a grand manner. But, none of the GHMC corporators have been formally invited till now. The chief minister and the officials have to answer how Rs.10 crores allotted for the celebrations were spent till now,” Karthika Reddy said.
