Hyderabad: Telangana minister T. Nageswara Rao on Friday said in the Assembly that helipads will come up in all the district headquarters of the state. The state government requires about 20 acres of land for each helipad. However, a senior official said that it would be challenging to find land amidst farmers' protest wherein the government took land to build collectorate office complexes.
The farmers are demanding huge compensation and finding land for the helipads is a tough job. Rao said, adding, "In Khammam, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy districts the collectorate offices will be 1.50 lakh sq ft, while in the remaining districts, the offices will come up in 1.20 lakh sq ft."
The estimated cost of the construction of collectorate offices in 26 districts is said to be Rs 1,032 crore.
