Erratic power supply forces farmers to block NH 44

Hyderabad, Farmers' unrest over erratic power supply spilled on to National Highway No 44 near Narsingi in Medak.

Angry farmers blocked the highway and pelted stones on the police personnel.

The farmers demanded that the officials provide them with uninterrupted power supply.They alleged that things have come to a pass and they can no longer put up with erratic power supply.

The protesters also damaged eight buses and a police van. The police had to canecharge and disperse them. Due to the rasta roko, tens of hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides.

Meanwhile, KCR would meet Chattisgarh power officials this week end to find out a wayout from the impasse.
