The controversial reality show Bigg Boss 3 is facing stiff competition from a serial in terms of TRP ratings. The opening episode of the show topped the TRP rating with 17.9 points and scripted history in the TV shows and continued the same trend up to first-week elimination of the show.

After Tamanna Simhadri entered into the house as wild card entry, TRP ratings started to dip below 12. The audience seemed to have been put off by Tamanna's behaviour in the house and began to tune into other shows. Clearly, Bigg Boss 3 was no longer the preferred choice, resulting in a lower TRP rating for the reality show.

Karthika Deepam which is being telecast in Star Maa channel receives 15.4 ratings daily and dominates the Bigg Boss 3 show. The serial garnered a huge response in both the Telugu states after the Mogali Rekulu serial which is aired on Gemini TV.

After the elimination of Tamanna from the show, audiences are again showing interest to watch the show. It is likely that as more eliminations come into play, Bigg Boss will gather momentum.
