Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas is known for his action-oriented and commercial movies featuring A-list directors and actresses. In an attempt to break the mold and deliver a story-centric film, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie, Sita featuring Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead.

On choosing this movie, Bellamkonda Sreenivas says, "This is the first movie I chose without focusing on the result. When you see characters like Ranbir Kapoor's Barfi, you feel inspired to do such roles. But not everyone gets such characters. When Director Teja approached me for this role, I decided to do it without a second thought. This is a character, I chose to do for myself."

Opening up about his character, Raghuram in the movie, he said, "This character was very challenging to play as it had a lot of variations. Honestly, you forget what you play after the movie is completed. But I missed playing this character after the movie shoot. That's how much I connected to it."

When quizzed on the title focusing on the leading lady, the actor shares, "I am the one who majorly supported this title for the movie and many urged me not to go ahead with it. But I wanted to break the stereotype."

Citing the example of Sui Dhaga movie where Anushka Sharma’s name was highlighted before Varun Dhawan, Bellamkonda Sreenivas says the move showed the respect towards the actress, which is what we are also focusing to do.

Prod him on working with director Teja, the actor reveals that emoting has become easier after working with him. He says, " I can feel the difference when I go to the sets of his next movie. Teja has clarity on his characters and makes the artists internalize the situations. He seeks out the artists' inputs and builds on the improvisations which are extremely fruitful for an actor."

The actor also shared about shooting the movie at Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia making Sita the second film to be shot there, after Tomb Raider.

Having gained a digital market in the Hindi-dubbed versions of his movies, Bellamkonda Sreenivas stated that two of his movies gained 100 million views each on YouTube, a feat no other Telugu actor has managed other than him and Allu Arjun. Stating that it is an added responsibility for him, the actor shared that he still has 10 days shoot for the Hindi version of Sita.
