Director Mahi V. Raghav's Yatra stars Mammootty in the lead role. The movie passed the crucial first weekend test with flying colours. Looks like it has been raining biopics in Tollywood. After two biopics Mahanati and NTR Kathanyakudu, Yatra has opened in theatres to a terrific response from the audience. Mammootty has been lauded for his performance as Dr YSR role.

He has lived into the character. Yatra was made in Telugu and dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam languages. The movie has met the audience expectations. For Mammootty, Malayali fans got a golden a chance to see their idol in politician's avatar which clearly is a visual treat to his sea of fans.

Yatra is a chapter based on the life story of late AP chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the massive success of his Padayatra during which he got a first hand insigght into the real problems of the Public. He implemented the revolutionary Fee Reimbursement scheme which made countless aspiring students to pursue further studies. Yatra is a fitting tribute to great leader Dr YSR who lives on to this day in the hearts of millions of people. Yatra is expected to have a dream run at the box office. Latest we hear is that Yatra would be streaming on Amazon prime video after its successful theatrical run. According to sources, Yatra digital rights have been bought by Amazon Prime for a fancy price. The release date of Yatra on Amazon Prime is to be awaited.

Besides Mammootty, Yatra cast includes Jagapathi Babu, Anasuya Bhardwaj and Suhasini in important roles.
