Back to Mahesh Babu's web series, he has been on the lookout for a lead actor. His fans are requesting Mahesh Babu to play the role himself. However, he can't as he is already committed to multiple projects. Rumours are doing the rounds, there are high chances that tollywood young actor Vijay Deverakonda is likely to play the lead role in Mahesh's web series. It is being speculated Vijay Deverakonda might be seen as the lead actor. But mind you, these are mere speculations as Vijay is the most sought after actor for producers in the industry. It would be difficult to get dates from Vijay Deverakonda to Mahesh Babu web series. It remains to be seen whom Mahesh Babu is going to finalise for his first venture of web series titled Charlie. It is going to be directed by director Hussain Sha Kiran of Meeku Meere Maaku Meme fame. The film is expected to roll out as soon as he finds an actor to fit the role.

On the work front, Mahesh Babu has been busy with the shoot of his upcoming film Maharshi which went on floors last year. The movie is getting ready to wrap up the shoot by end of this month. The film is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju.
