KGF Satellite Rights: How Much Is It Worth?
Yash's recent release KGF Chapter:1 is going steady at the box office. It is one of the costliest Indian films which brought good reputation to Sandalwood. People are dubbing KGF as the next Baahubali and Yash as second Prabhas.
That's not all, the Kannada movie titled KGF chapter 1, is giving tough competition to big ticket movies released last week like-Zero, Maari 2 among others. Given the hype surrounding the film, it may not be easy to bag the satellite rights of the movie. The film is already minting profits at the box office since its opening. It remains to be seen how KGF will perform in the next week.
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh's masala movie Simmba is making all the right noises across the globe. The film, the hindi remake of the Telugu hit Temper starring Jr NTR, is being promoted in a big way with only a few days left to release in theatres.
On the very second day of KGF release, the makers extended the number of screens for the movie. Now, it remains to be seen if Ranveer's Simmba will reduce the number of screens for KGF which is ruling the roost till now.
Latest news doing the rounds is that the satellite rights of KGF Chapter 1 have been sold for a record-breaking price. It's worth mentioning here that several people were competing to purchase the rights of KGF as it got national recognition after defeating Shah Rukh Khan's Zero.
If reports doing the rounds are anything to go by, KGF satellite rights have been bought by a leading Telugu entertainment channel for an estimated price of Rs 20 Crores. This is the highest amount for any Yash movie dubbed into Telugu. KGF seems to have fetched a whopping amount. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
Meanwhile, director Prashanth Neel is busy with the script of the sequel of KGF. Besides, if the latest buzz doing the rounds in social media circles is any indication, then the KGF director would make his Telugu debut soon. Wondering who will Prashant cast in his Telugu movie? Well, you would be thrilled to know that it's none other than Telugu rebel star Prabhas.
