2018 was a year of plenty for the Telugu Film Industry in terms of box office collections and blockbuster hits. This year witnessed three all-time blockbuster hits—Ram Charan's Rangasthalam, Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu and Jr NTR's Aravinda Sametha. All of them were profitable ventures at the tollywood box office.

Rangasthalam: Ram Charan's Rangasthalam is the biggest box office in 2017. The film has set a new benchmark at the domestic as well as global box office. Currently, Rangasthalam stands at the third position among the all-time highest-grossing films only after Baahubali franchise. Rangasthalam has ended up with a worldwide distributor share of close to 120 Crores. Ram Charan played a career-defining role as a deaf person in the film. Samantha played the female lead.

Bharat Ane Nenu: Superstar Mahesh Babu set an all-time record with its Tamil Version at the Chennai box office. It has become one of the highest grossing films in Mahesh’s career after churning out a humongous figure of Rs 149.5 crores gross. Bharat Ane Nenu saved Mahesh Babu from his rough patch and brought his fortune back on track at the box office. He was seen as dynamic Chief Minster fights taking on the corrupt system. Mahesh Babu has added another feather to his hat by essaying the Chief Minister’s role which was a treat to all his fans as he had never portrayed a politician before.

Aravinda Sametha: This marked a sentimental film for Jr NTR. His father passed away in a road accident when this movie was in production. Half the portion of the film was left to be shot when tragedy struck Nandamuri family. Jr NTR joined the sets without taking a break by considering the fact that the entire crew of Aravinda Sametha would be affected by his absence. Jr NTR delivered a message through Aravinda Sametha—to be careful while driving. He also sent out a message to his fans saying always remember that their family was waiting for them. The film’s pre-release event too was emotional. Aravinda Sametha is an action entertainer where Jr NTR tries to stop violence and bloodshed in his village. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film was the first collaboration that drew many an eyeballs and raked in millions at the box office. The film has made a lifetime collectionsof Rs 158.6 crores worldwide.

Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Mahesh Babu are Tollywood BFF's. These stars even had a great year for them. Their movies did fantastic business at the box office. It is left to be seen how films of these actors would fare next year as the three stars are working on their next—Charan's Vinaya Vidhya Rama, Mahesh's Maharshi and Jr NTR's RRR.
