Rajinikanth 2.0 Beats Baahubali, Avengers Infinity War On First Day

Hyderabad: Amid unprecedented hype and await from across the globe, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 created sensation at the Box Office within 24 hours from release. While the fans across India gathered at the theatres from early morning on Thursday, the film registered 1 million ticket sales in advance on Book My Show. It may be recalled that the film's trailer received 25 million views on YouTube in less than a day.

With this, Rajnikanth's 2.0 stands out as the lone film to do so, a record over the release of the two most magnanimous films in the recent times, Baahubali and Avengers: Infinity War. Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan garnered 50 crores on its Diwali opening day, the highest collection for an Indian movie. However, it is expected that 2.0 would easily collect Rs 100 crore worldwide.

Featuring actors Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey and Amy Jackson in key roles, the film's music was composed by AR Rahman. Director Shankar also directed the first sequel in the series 'Robo.'
