Content Is King, Audience Are King Makers: Taran Adarsh On Thugs Of Hindostan  

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's much awaited film Thugs Of Hindostan was released amid huge expectations. But the film failed to live upto the audiences expectations. Yet Thugs of Hindastan got the highest opening at the box office by churning out Rs 52.25cr on the very first day of its release. The film has earned decent bucks due to advance booking for the opening weekend.

Aamir Khan always aim to release his films during big festivals in India. The film would have earned big bucks given that it was released on Diwali. The makers had planned to encash the festive holiday season. This time, unfortunately, Thugs Of Hindostan failed to recreate the magic of the atcor's earlier films Dangal or Superstar at the box office. On the other hand, the film has received disastrous reviews and negative word of mouth from all section of audiences as also film critics.

Thugs Of Hindostan got a solid shock following a huge drop in its collections post the mammoth opening.

Going by the trend, trade analysts opine that it's not the star cast but the content of the film which matters. The big ticket film's collections are expected to take a further dip in the coming days.

We all must agree on Film Critic Taran Adarsh's words. He has posted a tweet about film collections at the ticket window. We can't predict the fate of the film. The absoulute judges to justify any film across the world are the audiences. If the content is unique and meaningful public wouldn't hesitate to purchase a ticket with a high price too. Last week, a medium budget Bollywood film Badhaai Ho earned huge profits at the ticket window. Badhaai Ho has proved with its storyline that content can rule the box office no matter how big or small an actor is featured in the film. Thugs Of Hindostan released in around 6000 screens but failed miserably at the box office. Now how much will be the lifetime collections of Thugs Of Hindostan? It remains to be seen if the astounding figures will surpass other hit movies or the film will remain the biggest flop of 2018. Take a look at the tweets:
