Post Rangasthalam success, looks like Director Sukumar is on a roll and wants to come up with different kind of tales to tell the audiences. Ram Charan's Rangasthalm which was released this year in March became a smash hit at the box office. Now, Sukumar's next project will be with Mahesh Babu and it would take some time before the project goes into floors. The reason behind the delay of Mahesh Babu's next film with Sukumar has nothing to do with the Bharat Ane Nenu actor's busy call sheet. The latest buzz is that the delay is from Sukumar's end.

If reports doing the rounds are to go by, Sukumar is working on a sensational story which could create history at the Tollywood box office. As you all know Sukumar had earlier worked with Mahesh in 1 - Nenokkadine which was released with huge expectations but turned out to be a huge diaster in Mahesh's career.

A little birdie tells us that Sukumar has been doing a lot of research on interesting stories in history which would not only keep audience engaaged but also push Mahesh's star status to a new level. In the process, Sukumar is believed have discovered the story of a Telangana warrior who fought against the Nizams in the 1900s. Ever since Prabhas's period drama Baahubali became a blockbuster hit, the genre has become flavour of the season in Tollywood. Currently, Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa, Prabhas's next film with Radha Krishna and now, Mahesh Babu with Sukumar may carry the same theme of the film. It remains to be seen if these films have the substance to hold the audience attention.

On the career front, Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the shoot of his next Maharshi. It marks the actor's 25th project and is being helmed by Vamsi Paidipally. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh will appear in key roles.
