Hyderabad: Senior Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has finally revealed his plans to lauch Akhil on pan-India level. Speaking to media during a promotional event for his upcoming movie Devadas, the actor said his younger son Akhil and Bollywood director Karan Johar were very good friends. He also opened up about the director's interest in launching Akhil in Bollywood.

"Karan and Akhil get along well. They are good friends. He asked me on several occasions about launching Akhil in Bollywood. I had asked for some time because I felt Akhil needs to develop more as an actor. He has to work on his acting skills before thinking about working in Bollywood," Nagarjuna said.

Asked if Akhil was in good terms with his opinion, Nagarjuna quipped that Akhil had already committed a mistake by hastily making his debut in Tollywood. "Akhil did not take my advice the first time. Now I have asked Karan to wait until he is ready for Bollywood. Whenever he is ready, I will let them make plans for the debut," he added.

Although Akhil received the debut lead role filmfare best debut actor award for his debut film 'Akhil,' titled after his own name, the movie did not fare well at the Box Office. His romantic action thriller film Hello!, released in 2017, received a positive response from the audience. Its Hindi version Taqdeer also received praise.

Meanwhile, makers of Devadas, an action comedy film stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Nani, Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh in the lead roles, are preparing to release the film on 27 September 2018. Recently, Nagarjuna and Nani, who is also anchoring the Telugu Bigg Boss 2 show, promoted the film in the House.
