Telangana Govt Replicates Mahesh Babu’s Rules, Draws Flak

Superstar Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu which released in April has completed three months of its run. Yet the talk about the film refuses to die down among the audiences. Few days back, Telugu Desam Party MP Jayadev Galla referred to one of the important dialogues from the film which goes something like—‘a promise is a promise. He is Mahesh Babu's brother-in-law.

We all know that Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KTR too sang praises of the film. Now, it appears that the Telangana Government is taking a leaf out of the film Bharat Ane Nenu. Remember how chief minister Bharat proposes levying excess fine as a road safety measure?

On August 7, there was strike in Telangana state where drivers demanded rollback of challan hike and other fees. Drivers of various modes of transport made a plea to government asking it to slash the challan hikes. Mahesh Babu in Bharat Ane Nenu imposes huge fines to commuters who flout traffic rules.

It seems, the government's has implementation of new challan system has drawn inspiration from Bharat Ane Nenu.

According to the new rules, unauthorized parking feel has been hiked from Rs 100 to Rs 1000 while driving without license could invite a fine of Rs 5000 instead of the previous Rs 250. If drivers fail or refuse to the show the driving license they could be fined Rs 5000. Drivers have been demanding that the government scrap the Motor Vehicle amendment.

Bharat Ane Nenu was declared a huge box office hit. Now, are commuters miffed with Mahesh Babu for his proposals in Bharat Ane Nenu which is now become a cause of concern in real life? It could be easy in reel life to levy excess penalty. But we have to see how far this can help practically. Will people accept these harsh rules?

On the career front, Mahesh Babu is occupied with Vamsi's untitled film which is currently in the production stage. The film also stars Pooja Hedge and Allari Naresh in pivotal roles. It is slated for release next year in April.
