New Delhi: Sensational director Ram Gopal Varma is readying himself to create a storm, this time with an already controversial subject—the story of Sanjay Dutt.
In a recent interview, the director said he was disappointed with Raj Kumar Hirani's "Sanju" biopic, especially on why Sanjay Dutt had to get in touch with the underworld.
According to reports, Ram Gopal Varma is believed to be meeting people close to Sanjay Dutt, his associates and several police officers. The director, it is learnt, wants to gauge the seriousness of the threat to the Dutt family, and focus more on the sequence of the actor's entry and exit from jail.
If sources are to be believed, Ram Gopal Varma's version of Sanjay Dutt biopic is slated to be titled: 'Sanju: The Real Story'. The director, however, is already in the know of things about Sanjay Dutt, after directing him twice—Daud in 1997 and Department in 2012. Also, Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV has a history of announcing films and not taking them up later. Last year, he announced a film on V K Sasikala and so far there is no signs of its materialization.
Ranbir Kapoor's recent biopic "Sanju" received mixed reponse from the audience, with criticism over the director's attempt to better the image of Sanjay Dutt.
