Deepika Padukone was seen in the multilingual movie Padmaavat which is believed to be the story of Rajput queen Rani Padmini. Padmaavat became another blockbuster hit in the actress's career as it raked in crores at the worldwide box office.

The combination of Deepika and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has again proved to be a successful one this time as their earlier movies Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani were highly praised by the audience. It is also worth mentioning here that these movies helped the actor to become one of the highest paid actresses in B-town.

She is the first priority for any director as her hit track record makes the directors wait for call sheets. The latest we hear is that Deepika has been roped in for the south remake of late actress Sridevi's hit movie.

It is learnt that the actress has not signed any movie after Padmaavat and has been waiting for a good story. And now, she gave her nod to the remake of Sridevi's film. There were reports that the movie which is to be remade was made four decades ago with Sridevi in a lead role. However, there is no official confirmation on the reports.

Sridevi who had acted in numerous films left the entire film fraternity in shock with her sudden demise. And the news of the film's remake will be surely good news for scores of her fans.
