Rajinikanth's Kaala was released on June 7 after much delay. Now, we hear that the film has turned out to be the biggest flop at the box office. Kaala entered the Rs 200 Cr Club but failed to set the box office on fire. Kaala opened to mixed reviews from the audiences.

People have loved the film and also raved about Rajini's character. According to sources, Rajini's comments on Cauvery dispute took its toll on the film's fate at the box office. Most of the people in Karnataka decided not to watch the film after being hurt by the Tamil superstar's comments on the Cauvery river dispute. Rajinikanth is seen playing a good samaritan and king of the Dharavi slums in Mumbai. Apart from Rajini, Kaala also stars Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Anjali Patil, Eshwari Devi in pivotal roles.
