With the culinary delights on offer at the Gastro-Village a new après-ski rendezvous point is guaranteed.

The top event, the St. Moritz Ice Cricket, is being held on the frozen lake of St. Moritz for the first time. And while the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, the Engadin Ski Marathon marks fifty years of marathon history. The Corviglia mountain station now has a new fine dining concept in store, and the new ‘Glatschin’ ice track experience in St. Moritz is the ideal spot to while away the hours.

Sport

The winter season gets underway on the Diavolezza on Saturday, 21 October 2017. The Corvatsch and Corviglia ski areas are open from 25 November 2017. For fans of cross-country skiing the event season kicks off with the Pontresina Cross-country Skiing Opening from 26 November to 2 December 2017. At the Audi FIS Ski World Cup from 8 to 10 December 2017 the women’s elite skiers will be competing for World Cup points in the Super-G and Alpine Combination events. Given how much buzz there was surrounding the House of Fans at the 2017 World Ski Championships, guests this winter will once again be able to enjoy a House of Fans at the Hotel Schweizerhof St. Moritz. For the first time ever in the history of this particular sport, cricket stars will be competing on the frozen lake of St. Moritz at the St. Moritz Ice Cricket from 8 to 9 February 2018. And on 11 March 2018 the Engadin Ski Marathon will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with an exciting programme.

Fine dining

Up on the Corviglia mountain, winter sports enthusiasts will discover a new fine dining concept featuring haute cuisine served in stylish surroundings at the mountain station. The remodelled Edy’s Free Flow Restaurant & Bar opens on 2 December 2017, followed by the White Marmot Restaurant & Bar on 16 December, combining snowsports and lifestyle. The St. Moritz Gourmet Festival celebrates twenty-five years of excellence with lots of exciting culinary events in store. This year for the first time the fine dining event is being held over nine days from 12 to 20 January 2018.

Experience

In St. Moritz Bad the new ‘Glatschin’ ice track experience with its Ice Path and market stalls is certain to conjure up a festive Yuletide winter atmosphere from December 2017 to February 2018. With the culinary delights on offer at the Gastro-Village a new après-ski rendezvous point is guaranteed.

Culture

Last winter the ‘Ice Stupa’ in the valley of Val Roseg drew people’s attention to the receding Morteratsch Glacier. This coming winter an Ice Stupa Village has been set up in the valley of Val Morteratsch to increase overall awareness of water as a vital resource. An ‘ice stupa’ is a man-made ice mound some 20 m high (a structure inspired by Tibetan religious stupas) and in dry mountain regions its melt water can be used for irrigation purposes. The St. Moritz Music Summit from 4 to 8 April 2018 will rally Switzerland’s DJ elite from the electronic dance music scene. The party atmosphere already gets underway at the first pre-party event on 9 December 2017 at the quattro BAR on the Corviglia. www.engadin.stmoritz.ch/topevents-en/
