Warangal: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari fainted on the dais while reading out the Pragati Nivedika during the third Telangana State Formation Day celebrations here on Friday.
The heatwave condition in the city was so severe right from the morning. Srihari looked dull even before the program began. After the celebrations were declared open, he stood up to read out a report on the developments that took place in the district in the last three years.
After trying to contain himself for a while, Srihari collapsed on the dais and fell unconscious. He was shifted into his vehicle to rush to a hospital. However, the doctors present at the spot provided him primary treatment for sun stroke and he came back to conscious.
Srihari was so particular about the program that he came back to the dais and finished his speech. Then he was again helped back to the vehicle in which doctors are overseeing his condition. "His condition is stable," doctors said adding that he suffered from a mild sunstroke.
