The activists of Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samiti staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday over seat sharing between Congress and CPI.
President of the samiti Sanjiv Nayak demanded Congress high command not to allot the seats of Devarakonda and Mahabubabad, which have Congress sitting MLAs of Lamabdi tribe, to CPI as part of the alliance between the two parties.
“Lambadis stood by Congress party for several years. The party should not do injustice to such section of people,” said Nayak.
“If Congress party gave the two seats to CPI, we work against the party in entire Telangana region,” warned Nayak.
It may be recalled that both Congress and CPI have reached an agreement on the seat sharing in the next elections. But, a clarity on the issue is yet to be available.
CPI is demanding one MP and 12 assembly seats for them in the coming elections.
