YS. Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sharmila's 'Maro Praja Prasatanam' Padayaatra entered 11th day on Sunday. Sharmila started her Padayatra today at Rogicharla Cross in Anathapur district. Thousands of villagers and workers walked along with her to express their solidarity.
Addressing a large gathering at Kandukuru, Sharmila alleged that the Congress Government has diluted the Arogyasri scheme that was initiated by late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. "If the Congress and the TDP leaders get fever, do they go to government hospital. But they expect the common man to knock at the government hospital door for treatment," she said.
When TDP president Chandrababu Naidu was at the helm of the State's affairs, a record number of farmers committed suicide which never occurred in any part of the globe. Interestingly, Naidu did not visit the farmers who were killed in the police firing but he chose to visit the policemen who opened fire at farmers, Sharmila pointed out.
Chandrababu Naidu has a habit of breaking his promise and that was evident throughout his tenure, she said.
Naidu is reluctant to move a no-confidence motion against the Kirankumar Reddy's Government, Sharmila said and alleged that this clearly reflects the fact that both are hand-in-glove.
Meanwhile, YS Vijayamma, honorary president of the YSR Congress party while addressing a large public meeting in Raptadu constituency, remembered all the welfare schemes implemented by YSR. Now, his son Jagan Mohan Reddy too has great concern for the people. But he went to jail due to the conspiracy hatched by Naidu and the Congress Government, she said.
Stating that the power situation in the State has worsened in the recent past, Vijayamma said that "now we can hang our washed clothes to the power supply cables."
Jagan's commitment is reflected in the party flag designed with the ideas that he wants to bring into effect, Vijayamma said.
