DL rules out leaving Congress

Estranged D L Ravindra Reddy on Thursday said he would not resign to Congress party. DL, who was dismissed from the cabinet, said AICC president Sonia Gandhi had offered him the minister post and he did not require any position with the good offices of the Chief Minister.

“I will tour in Mydukuru constituency after the assembly session,” DL said.

‘DL is like a weed plant’

Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Kamalapuram in YSR Kadapa district Veerasiva Reddy came down heavily on dismissed minister D L Ravindra Reddy terming him as a ‘weed plant.’

Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, Veerasiva Reddy said DL was sacked from the cabinet because he was proved to be a ‘weed plant’. His dismissal was a blessing in disguise for the Congress party in YSR Kadapa district, the MLA lamented.

He said DL had never worked for uplifting the image of the party or the government and blamed him for the Congress party’s debacle in the by-polls and cooperative polls. DL had fielded a rebel candidate in the APCO chairman election and he was dismissed only for his anti-party activities.

The Congress MLA said his corruption charges would come to light in the wake of an ACB investigation on his company OSD. He surprised how he changed his words over his resignation to Congress party. DL had dug his own dig acting hyper-actively and lost his ministerial post. Veerasiva Reddy demanded for weeding out of other weed plants in the state cabinet.
