DJ Commits Suicide After Tying Wife’s Hands And Legs

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself in front of his wife after tying her hands and legs in Santosh Nagar on Saturday.

K. Karthik Kumar, a native of Uppuguda near Ashoknagar was working as a DJ at a club in the city here. He was married to his cousin Deepa Rani seven months ago and the couple was staying at a rented flat in Santosh Nagar. Due to financial problems, he stole a cellphone and sold it to his relative at Rs5,500. Police nabbed Karthik for the theft on the complaint of the victim. They warned him and took the phone back.

Depressed over the developments, he consumed alcohol and shared his distress with his wife. Later he hit himself with wine bottle. When his wife tried to comfort him, he tied her hands and legs with a rope. He then took her dupatta and hanged himself to the roof. On hearing the screams of his wife, neighbors came to her help but Karthik was already dead.

Police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
