Director Puri Reportedly Admits To Taking Drugs During SIT Interrogation

Hyderabad: Tollywood director Puri Jagannath on Wednesday reportedly admitted to the SIT officials that he had consumed drugs. Although, Puri denied that he had never into abuse of drugs, he had to confess before the investigating team after the officials placed evidences before him, highly placed sources said.

Following notices issued by the Telangana Excise and Prohibition department to Tollywood celebrities for involvement in the drugs, Puri appeared before the SIT team along with his family members at Abkari Bhavan here in the city.

Although, the director denied any links with the masterminds of the drug racket — Calvin Mascarenhas and Zeeshan Ali Khan, he had to admit his relationship with the accused after the officials revealed a photograph of Jyothi Lakshmi audio release function in which Calvin and Zeeshan too were present.

To prove whether Puri was into abuse of drugs, the officials are learnt to have taken samples of his blood and sent them for testing. The SIT team reportedly taken a person into custody after Puri disclosed some crucial information to them. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials are likely to grill Puri for some more days in the case.
