Superhit director Kodandarami Reddy, now a YSRCP member

Well known director Kodandarami Reddy who has given back to back hits in Tollywood, formally joined YSR Congress Party on Wednesday in the presence of party chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad.

Kodandarami Reddy who belongs to Mypadu of Indukurupeta mandal of Nellore district, is known for churning out some of the biggest hits in Tollywood.  

He has directed a number of yesterday year actors and has close to 100 per cent box office success rate.  

Speaking to reporters, he said that YS Rajasekhara Reddy's welfare schemes have always helped the poor. "If God existed, he wouldn't have taken YSR away from us. It is very unfortunate that we lost YSR," he said.

"It is because of the immense respect I have for YSR, that I came to meet YS Jagan. I will work hard to ensure the success of the party in the upcoming elections," he added.

In a major setback to Congress in West Godavari district, Tanuku MLA Karumuri Venkateswara Rao also joined YSRCP. 

He joined the party in the presence of YS Jagan at the party's Lotus Pond office.   

Karumuri had worked as Zilla Parishad chairman in West Godavari. In 2000 elections, contesting on Congress ticket he defeated TDP leader YT Raja.
