Digvijay Says Telangana Police Training Muslim Youth For ISIS; KTR Condemns 

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and in-charge of party's Telangana wing Digvijay Singh on Monday created ripples by making a weird statement: Telangana police has set up a bogus ISIS site which is radicalising Muslim youths and encouraging them to become ISIS modules.

After being cut to size by the party's high command by stripping him of in-charge position of Goa and Karnataka, Digvijay seems to be having lot of time at his disposal to invite some controversy.

Digvijay was sacked as the in-charge of Goa for his failure to form a government in Goa even after winning more seats than the BJP in the recent assembly election.

A former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay was sacked as the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in charge of Karnataka and Goa. He was punished for his Goa failure, though he continues to be in charge of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While KC Venugopal, a Lok Sabha member from Kerala, will take Singh’s place in Karnataka, the Goa responsibility has gone to A Chellakumar, a former Tamil Nadu MLA.

Now that Digvijay has more leisure time at his disposal, he was so keen to get himself embroiled in controversy by saying Telangana police are training Muslim youth to operate as ISIS modules... sounds so bizarre!

Reacting to Digvijay's statement, Telangana IT and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said, "It was most irresponsible and reprehensible thing coming from a former CM." He demanded the withdrawal of the statement unconditionally or provide evidence.

Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma also rejected the statement.

Unfounded allegations from a senior responsible leader will lower the morale and image of Police engaged in fighting anti-national forces.
