Inkollu (Prakasam): Development activities in Andhra Pradesh have to a standstill since four years of the Telugu Desam government, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

Addressing a public meeting, here on Tuesday on the 105th day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the YSRCP president said that development is when the lives of the people improve when compared to the past. "However, during the last four years the Chandrababu Naidu government increased the prices of essential commodities beyond the reach of the common man. Electricity charges, pulses at fair price shops and fuel prices have increased tremendously. Every section of the society has been impacted adversely by the TDP government's policies. Every election promise made by Chandrababu Naidu was conveniently ignored after the polls. Consequently, farmers are not getting minimum support price for their crop, fee reimbursement is non-existent and DWCRA women are not getting their due," YS Jagan said.

A leader should be committed to the welfare of the people and fulfill the promises made to the electorate, he said. "On the contrary chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed to the purchase of MLAs from other political parties through money earned from commissions and corruption. The TDP is not in a position to send its leaders to face the elections, hence it is resorting to the purchase of MLAs," the YSRCP chief said.
