Dejected with skin ailments, girl ends life

Khammam: Dejected that she may never get married due to chronic skin problems, an 18-year-old girl ended her life in Khammam on Wednesday.

The girl, identified as Sirisha(18,) has been suffering from a skin problem for the past ten years and was depressed that despite consulting several doctors, she couldn't rid herself of the affliction. Fearing taunts and insults due to her ailment, the girl ran away from home on Tuesday night and plunged before a moving train.
She called up her brothers before taking the fatal plunge. The family members rushed to the railway station to find her body. Sirisha is an student of Intermediate and is the daughter of local watchmen Venkanna.
The police registered a case and are investigating.
