Decided to contest as independent : Director Sankar

Political developments in Miryalaguda constituency in Nalgonda district have taken an interesting turn. 

Congress, which decided to field film director N.Sankar earlier, has now gone back on its word, owing to pressure from district Congress leaders.

But the BC associations, unions which took part in Telangana movement and other JACs have been asking the film personality to contest from the constituency even as an independent. As per the reports, Sankar has agreed. 

Julakanti Ranga Reddy from CPM, Amarendra Reddy from TRS, N.Bhaskar Rao and Bantu Venkateswarlu from TDP are the candidates contesting from here.

Some JACs  supported the candidature of Sankar.

“Hereditary politics should not be allowed at any cost. Some leaders are not interested in giving tickets to BC leaders. They are giving tickets only to their family members or their followers. I am contesting from Miryalaguda only to highlight the sacrifices of those who sacrificed their lives for the Telangana movement," said Sankar.
