YS Jagan critised the AP govt. for not coming to the aid of farmers

Atmakur: The second day of the Rythu Bharosa Yatra saw a massive turnout for YS Jagan in Atmakur of Kurnool district on Friday. Acknowledging this massive turnout YS Jagan thanked the crowd and said it was only their love and affection that brought them there in large numbers.

Raising the issues of farmers at the rally, YS Jagan criticised the negligible assistance that farmers in the district received from the government in spite of the large number of unfortunate farmer suicides there.
The crowd listens to YS Jagan with rapt attention as he touches upon issues close to them.

The AP government has cheated the farmers by going back on their poll promises once more,YS Jagan said. Neither the loans of the farmers were waived nor those of the DWACRA women, he criticized.

Not just that, the government was only able to allocate a measly Rs 4,900 crore for farm loans for the Rabi season. As a result farmers were forced to look out for private loans at exorbitant interest rates, Jagan added.

Rabi season, that sees around 20 lakh hectares being planted in AP every year has met only 48 percent of the target; only 11.90 hectares have been planted so far, YS Jagan pointed out. He also raised the issue of farmers not getting a fair price for their crops.

Why is it that when the water reservoirs such as Srisailam are holding water in excess to their mandated levels for the last 130 days, have not been asked to release water to Rayalaseema, Jagan questioned.

YS Jagan also touched upon other segments of people who were also suffering as a result of TDP going back on its poll promises. He made particular mention of promises of job certainty for college pass outs and unemployment allowance of Rs 2000 that Chandrababu Naidu had promised.

Parents are forced to sell away assets and land if they wanted their wards to make it through college...

YS Jagan also spoke on the issue of student fee reimbursements and the watering down of Aarogyagree scheme. While fee was being hiked on one side, fee reimbursements were not sufficient at all. As a result parents are forced to sell away assets and land if they wanted their wards to make it through college, he said.

Aarogyasree that had been such a boon to poor people under the rule of YS Rajasekhara Reddy was now watered down to such a state as, a result of nonpayment of dues to hospitals, that patients were asked by the hospitals to come back after a year. Dialysis patients with kidney ailments were being turned down the hospitals and are being asked to come back after a year, YS Jagan said.

Instead of coming out from his palace and taking stock of ground realities, Chandrababu Naidu was purchasing MLAs with corrupt money, Jagan condemned.

YS Jagan asked the people to stand together and put an end to the TDP misrule in the state that was filled with corruption at every level. He sought their blessing to be able to give a fitting reply in the next elections.
