Dacoits fire at SI during bank robbery

A sub-inspector of police was shot when he attempted to apprehend the dacoits, who were on the bid to loot Syndicate Bank at Kaveli in Kohir mandal of Medak district in the wee hours of Friday.

Three dacoits sketched a plan to loot Syndicate Bank. On a tip off, SI Venkatesh reached the spot and tried to take them into custody. Sensing trouble, the dacoits fired at the SI and fled. He was grievously injured and was shifted to KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. Doctors attending on Venkatesh said the bullet was removed after a surgery which went for more than three hours. His health condition was stated to be normal.
