The sub-urban railway network has been suspended till further notice. Some trains that are reaching and leaving Chennai have been diverted and cancelled. The Chennai division of southern railway has beed badly affected according to senior officials camping at stations and control rooms. Flight operations at the airport here have been suspended till 6 PM.

Wind speed is around 100-110 km/hour. Chennai recorded maximum wind speed of 192 Km/hour.
