Curbs on New Year revelry in Hyd

The Hyderabad police imposed several restrictions on party-goers on New Year eve to maintain public order.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand announced that all flyovers in the city would be closed for traffic from 11 pm to 5 am on the night of December 31. The police have set 1 am as the deadline for the New Year parties and they have been asked to wind up all by sharp 1 am. DJs should take permissions and special barracks have to be set up for women who are taking part in the celebrations.
Besides installing check-posts at various places to check rash and drunken driving, the police also imposed the traffic restrictions on several other roads leading towards the Hussain Sagar lake which has become a favourite hub for the New Year revelers
