WEST GODAVARI: In a rather bizarre incident a man ended up hanging himself accidentally while trying to threaten his wife to return home. The incident happened in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, May 4.

According to police reports, Gaddam Ganesh (35) who hailed from Malakapalli village in West Godavari district was married with two children. His wife had recently gone to Kuwait to work there. Relations were strained between them as she had stopped calling him for the past few days. On Monday, Ganesh in a video call, threatened his wife to kill himself by hanging if she did not come back. While the camera was on the selfie-mode, Ganesh tied a rope to the fan, and the other end of the rope around his neck. While threatening her he lost control, slipped from the stool and accidentally hanged himself, said Tallapudi SI G. Satish.

After being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Kovvur government hospital for autospy. Police filed a case and are verifying whether it was suicide or an accident, based on the 30-minute video recording before his death.
