MPDO Tortures & Slits Wife’s Hands For Additional Dowry

ASIFABAD: A case of dowry harassment by a government servant came to light when a woman filed a complaint with the Komaram Bheem-Asifabad-district SP Malla Reddy here on Monday.

Getting into the details, Sirpur (T) Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) Jagadish Anil Kumar, a native of Narsaraopeta in Guntur district married Mary Kumari from Guntur Town in the year 2018. Anil Kumar was posted as Sirpur (T) MPDO in Asifabad district. They both were residing in Sriramnagar Colony in Kagaz Nagar. Mary Kumar reported that she was harassed by him from the beginning of the marriage. He was supposedly drinking and physically harassing her constantly. He had also attempted to kill her in one such attack.

The victim, Mary Kumari, said that he allegedly consumed alcohol and attacked her with a knife on Friday. He slit both her arms above her wrist in the attack. She also showed her wounds to the media during a press conference.
