Former TDP Minister’s Grandson Arrested In Cheating Case

Visakhapatnam: Police arrested the grandson of a former TDP minister for allegedly cheating several unemployed youth of assuring them jobs, on Saturday. He is said to have taken about Rs 5 crore from the victims promising them outsourcing jobs in the government.

As per details given by the 4th Town Police Station CI Eswara Rao on Saturday, TDP former minister Reddy Satyanarayana's grandson, Reddy Gowtham was married to Ellanti Lochini, the daughter of another TDP leader Ellanti Bhakthavatsala Naidu from Ramachandrapuram, near Tirupati, on 2013.

When TDP was in power, Gautam frequently accompanied his grandfather to the Secretariat and made contacts with the authorities and officials there. He boasted of being close to the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and showed pictures of them together. He also made false claims that his wife was an IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. Claiming close association with the TDP chief he promised several youth of jobs in the government and also outsourcing jobs. His wife is also said to have cooperated in this.

In the name of Amma Manpower Security Services, he collected about Rs 5 crore from the unemployed youth and issue fake appointment letters. The victims' upon discovering the fraud lodged a complaint with the police in Vijayawada and Visakhaptnam districts,from where they hailed.

Visakha 4th Town police arrested the accused and presented them to the court. Gautam and his wife Lochini were sent to remand by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
