A case has been booked against a person who posted private pictures of his estranged wife on social media with the intention to defame her.

According to reports, a woman (30) who belongs to Farrukhnagar town in Gurgaon district of Haryana state got married to a man before 12 years, and due to some personal reasons, they filed a divorce case which is still pending in the court. The victim was working as a staff at a Garment manufacturing company in Gurugram.

The woman alleged that her husband had posted her private pictures on social media platform with the intention to defame her and to seek revenge on her, she further alleged that her husband posted her pictures from someone else's profile to escape from the consequences.

Initially, the woman approached cybercrime police over the Issue which was verified and the case was handed over to the Manesar police station, where she filed FIR against her husband.

Manesar women police officer Kavita, says that they have filed a case and started an inquiry into the Issue and will find out who posted the pictures in the social media site, police are yet to arrest the suspect.
