Hyderabad: Two minor boys, both classmates who went missing from their homes on Thursday, were found dead in a lake at Sastripuram in Mailardevpally here on Saturday. According to the police they are suspected to have accidentally drowned in the lake.

The boys were identified as Rafiuddin Harun (9) and Mohd Yousuf (12), both students of Government School, Kalapathar. On Thursday evening at around 4 pm, they had left their houses after coming from school. As they did not return home in the evening, their parents searched for them and finally lodged a complaint with the Mailardevpally police on Friday. The police filed a case and started searching for the missing boys.

On Saturday, they got to know that bodies of two boys were found floating in Bamroukdoulla lake, and immediately rushed to the spot. The parents were informed and they confirmed it was the bodies of the missing boys. The bodies were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

The CC footage in the area is being examined which showed that they had gone to the lakeside. Police suspect they came to the lake to either swim or to play and might have accidentally drowned. They are also examining the angle if this was an accident or whether there was any foul play involved in their death.
