Jashith Speaks to Sakshi TV

East Godavari: The kidnap drama of four-year-old Jashith ended on a happy note, after the kidnappers left the kid near a brick kiln in Kuthukuluru at Anaparthi mandal in the early hours of Thursday.

East Godavari SP Nayeem Asmi who was personally overseeing the rescue operations spoke to the boy and asked questions related to his kidnap.

Interestingly Jashith told the police that two people had picked him up while he was coming home with grandmother ( whom he called Nani) after playing. He said that he didn't know where he was taken or the house he was kept hidden in.

When asked if he knew where he was he said he had no idea where. The police also examined the boy's health conditions and thankfully, the boy wasn't hurt or injured. He told them that they took care of him and told the police that he was given only idlies to eat in the past two days.

He said that an 'Uncle' named Raju was one among the kidnappers and that he was the one who took him on his bike on Monday night and left him by the roadside.

Meanwhile, innocent replies by Jaswith to questions by local media persons went viral. He said there were two kidnappers. When asked if he knows their names, the boy replied he knew one. "Why should I tell you? I will share it with my friends," he said when asked to reveal the name of the kidnapper. Jaswith, a UKG student, looked cheerful and replied to the questions with enthusiasm, unaware of the seriousness of the situation and the agony his parents had been going through

Police are questioning Jashith's parents if they knew anyone by the name of Raju or if there was a person by that name in their colony in Mandapeta. They are conducting further investigations based on what the boy has told the police.
