Honour Killing? Techie Found Dead 10 Days After He Went Missing From In-Laws House In Salem

Krishnagiri: A man's dead body was recovered on the railway tracks on Sunday, ten days after he went missing from his in-laws' house. Salem railway police found the body lying on the track between Rayakottai and Palacode railway stations.

The deceased, identified as S. Syed Tanvir Ahmed, a 36-year-old techie was a native of Ayanavaram in Chennai. He worked abroad and went missing from his in-laws house on July 12, a leading daily reported. His wife, native of Ayanavaram in Chennai, is pregnant.

Police said Syed went to Bengaluru after informing his wife that he would return the same day. After he did not return home, a missing persons complaint was registered by his wife in Rayakottai police station.

On Sunday, his body was found in the railway tracks.

Police said that Syed and Shilpa had their inter-caste marriage six years ago. They studied together in a private engineering college at Chennai and married against the wishes of their parents.

After initial conflicts, the family had accepted the duo.

Police said that her wife has said that the couple were in a healthy relationship.

Investigation is on to determine whether he died accidentally or it was a case of murder.
