Hyderabad: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle in Cyberabad under Rajendranagar police station limits. The incident came to light with the arrest of the miscreant on Friday.

The accused (28) sexually assaulted the girl on June 27 at the latter's home in the absence of her parents, who were out on work. The accused resided on the ground floor of the apartments and the victim's family resided on the fourth floor.

On Friday, the girl's parents had left for office. The accused took advantage of the parents' absence and invited the child to his place on the pretext of buying chocolates. He then raped her.

The girl experienced stomach ache the next day and she was rushed to the hospital where she shared the incident with the doctor. Learning of the incident, her parents lodged a complaint with the Rajendranagar police in Hyderabad. The accused was taken into custody and a case has been filed against him. Further investigation is underway.
