Hyderabad: A couple committed suicide at a hotel in Chandanagar on Monday allegedly after their family refused to accept the relationship.
The duo consumed pesticides and took their lives. The girl, 21-year-old, Swanalatha was a BTech student and the boy (25) identified as Mohan Naik was a driver.
Chandanagar SI Bhaskar Rao told the Times of India they had eloped on Monday morning. However, no suicide note was found.
According to police when the couple did not return home, the family found out that they were staying at a hotel in Chandanagar and came to search them. When they did not open the door, the staff broke open the door and found the couple dead.
A case of suspicious death was registered.
