Hyderabad: A section officer working for the town planing department of GHMC charminar division was caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

Sayed Ashraf Ahmed, the accused, was caught at Jama Masjid– Siddiamber Bazaar on Friday.

The complainant had gone to the ghmc ofice as he was building his house. there he was madeto pay a bribe to see that the construction of the house wasnot halted. Themoney was recovered and the accused was arrested. He was produced before the special court for ACB cases.

In a similar incident, a government servant from Telangana was caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau for taking advantage and allegedly demanding money for an appointment from a widowed lady.

E Nagaraju, working as the section officer in the Panchayat Raj and rural development department at the secretariat was caught redhanded at 2:20 pm at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus-station in Imlibun, by the ACB, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from G Nagalaxmi, a resident of Sriramapuram, Dammapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, whose husband V Malleswar Rao passed away.
