Hyderabad: The body of a 25-year-old woman was found stuffed in a suitcase, which was thrown inside a drain near a school in Medchal. The body was tightly stuffed in a suitcase using rope and scotch tape and later dumped outside the Krishi High School. Locals spotted an abandoned suitcase close to the school on Sunday and alerted the police.

As per the details, the woman was identified as Lavanya, a native of Ramachandrapuram. She was working as a software engineer and her family had filed a missing complaint with the police on March 7, three days after she went missing.

According to the police, the woman was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Sunil, a mechanical engineer. Lavanya's family informed that she was in a relationship with Sunil, who was her classmate in college. The couple had been working and residing in Hyderabad with their families. Sunil, who hailed from Bihar, was working with an engineering firm and had moved to Hyderabad years ago.

They revealed that Sunil wanted to move to Muscat for a job and planned to take Lavanya along with him for a visa interview. On March 4, the victim's family dropped her off at the Hyderabad airport so that she could fly to Muscat with her boyfriend.

However, Sunil reportedly convinced the victim to go to a lodge with him. A day later, the suspect killed the woman, stuffed her body in her suitcase and threw it in a drain in Medchal. Police revealed that Sunil did not want to get married to the woman and decided to kill her.

A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the victim's family. Police have arrested Sunil on suspicion of kidnapping and killing the woman. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
