Kurnool Man Molests Granddaughter
Kovelakuntla: A mentally challenged minor girl was raped by a man who was old enough to be her grandfather in Uppaluru mandal at Kovelakuntla in Kurnool district.
The incident came to light after the girl was found six months pregnant. As per Revanuru SI Ramesh Kumar, six months ago Jinkala Pullayya (60) who belonged to Uppaluru took a minor girl (16) who was related to him, out for grazing sheep in the fields.
Taking advantage of her mental disability, he raped the girl. She could not disclose what happened to her at that time because of her disability. Around two days when she was not feeling well her parents took her to the hospital and the doctors after testing her informed her parents that she was six months pregnant.
The girl's relatives who knew that he had taken her out confronted him and he confessed to have raped the girl on several occasions.
The girl's father filed a complaint at the Revanuru Police station. The police registered a case under the POSCO Act and the girl was sent to Nandyal Government hospital for medical tests.
