Visakhapatnam: Bhogasamudram Vijaya Reddy, a former Congress party worker, was found brutally murdered at her residence, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the murder took place on Monday. Gold jewellery was also stolen from the spot they added.

At 11 AM on Monday, Vijaya had sent a message to her husband stating that she was moving elsewhere on work. The phone was found to be switched off after this. The husband spent the night at the neighbors’ house. On the next day, when he returned to the locked home, he used a spare key to open the door. The key as with a relative. When he entered his house he noticed blood that led him to the body of his murdered wife.

"The body of the deceased was found in the bathroom dipped in a pool of blood," the police official added. The police also said that during the course of the investigation, it was revealed that two unknown persons were in touch with her for the past two days about the sale of the house where she was later found dead.

The first impression was that the Congress worker was killed by a sharp object, particularly a knife. The body has been sent for post mortem.

A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered and the police are probing the matter from numerous angles including political, real estate or any other conspiracy.
